Snoqualmie Pass passes last year's entire snow total by mid-December
(Then again, the bar was set really low...)
With 25 inches of new snow (and counting) between Thursday morning and Friday morning, Snoqualmie Pass has about 110 inches of total snow in 2015, of which about 55 inches was still on the ground as of Friday morning.
Last year had 104 inches of total snow from start to finish, which was the lowest amount for a season on record and it wasn't even close.
(The old record for least amount of snow was 191 inches in 1976-77.)
The 19" that fell on Dec. 17 was the greatest single day snowfall since Feb. 17, 2013.
There is still PLENTY of snow in the forecast for the mountains this weekend and into next week, with two more storms looking to add another 2-3 feet to Snoqualmie's seasonal total by the time we get to Christmas. It's a present that can't quite fit in the ski resorts' stocking, but will likely be among the most cherished in the region.
