The Wrong Train to Glory

For Memorial Day

I rode by the Tranquility United Methodist Church yesterday.
On one side, the sign out front said "America God Shed his grace on thee." It should have included "Until we (white Christians) got here."

On the other side it said to "Pray for our troops for they fight for our freedom."

Are we to pray that the troops can kill and main, torture and rape, plunder and pillage a nation of people that were never a threat to us? Are we to pray that this madness (or as our evil leader calls it "the sacrifice") never ends? How fitting: to sacrifice on the altar of war. What God does he really worship?

As for our freedoms, they are gone. I guess that the pastor is so engrossed in "The Word of God" that he has just missed the last seven years. The USA PATRIOT Act (I and II), the Military Commissions Act, the John Warner Defense Authorization Act, hundreds of Executive Orders, NSPD51, HR 1955, and S-1959.

Perhaps the pastor got on the wrong train to glory.
