Is There Such a Thing As Public Restroom Rights?

I’ve been very hesitant to become involved journalistically in the discussion about transgender bathroom protocols, but there’s something I think I have to get off my chest, which I hope readers won’t mind hearing. Maybe some of you have that same albatross sitting right there between your heart and mouth, but are afraid to say something.
If the transgender population wants to be considered good neighbors then, perhaps, those folk ought to consider this: In today’s squirrely times in which anything goes and, consequently, can happen, where are the transgender population’s concerns and compassion for what can happen to unsuspecting children and grown females, who can be assaulted in various ways by thrill seekers, as this article illustrates, who take advantage of the transgender folks itinerary regarding rights to use public restrooms. That’s something no one in the political correctness community is factoring into the new acculturation process for society about a new world order of bathroom protocols, I offer.
I, for one, think anyone will be terrified to enter a public restroom ANYWHERE in the USA anymore! I can tell you that once while in New York City, I came out of an individual cubicle in a ladies room to find a grown man unzipped, exposed, and urinating into the wash basin where I was expected to wash my hands. You can be doggone sure that I didn’t wash my hands that time, and I’m a stickler about washing hands after using the bathroom! And that was in a rather NICE hotel, too!
There are sickos and thrill-seekers everywhere. I don’t think the transgender community would want others harmed because of their insistence upon restroom rights. After all, your rights are guaranteed by law, but not at the risk of the safety to others, I offer for consideration.
For ages, at least in the USA, there have been separated restrooms for the two genders. Now that we have a third gender, aka transgender, and I say that respectfully, as many still have biological anatomy that may not correspond to a dress code. So, I propose that you folks have your own restroom(s) that will be respected by everyone, be safe and secure for you, plus ALL citizens. I further think that there should be separate cubicles in transgender restrooms for each person’s privacy so no guest can know what’s going on with the source of another guest’s evacuation route. That makes more common sense—don’t you think?
I think politicians, who are trying to piggyback onto the transgender agenda and want to cash in politically from it, should consider the backlashes they certainly should and will be getting from parents and females regarding the unsafe restroom conditions politicians and the political correctness meme have created for more than half of the U.S. population: innocent children and mature females.
