Worst hurricane season in a CENTURY: Hurricane Delta becomes the tenth storm to hit the US this year - as video captures a mobile home being tossed upside down

  • Hurricane Delta made landfall along Louisiana's southwest coast Friday evening
  • When Delta came ashore Friday as a Category 2 hurricane, almost all homes and buildings in Lake Charles still bore battered roofs and other damage from Laura
  • Seven rigs and 274 platforms were evacuated ahead of the storm - meaning roughly 92 per cent of oil production in the Gulf was shut down
  • The hurricane struck the Gulf Coast as a 100mph Category 2 storm, but was downgraded to a Category 1 after an hour - while earlier Friday morning it had been classes as a Category 3
  • Almost 10,000 people had moved to emergency shelters Friday afternoon, Louisiana Gov. Bel Edwards said
  • 20,000 homes were already without power hours before it made landfall
  • Donald Trump tweeted earlier Friday the hurricane is 'rushing toward Louisiana and Mississippi'
  • It lashed the Caribbean coast of Mexico on Wednesday with top winds of 110mph
  • Officials reported no deaths or injuries but hundreds of tourists were forced to take refuge in Cancun
  • Louisiana has been pummeled by three other storms or hurricanes that have made landfall this year
  • Hurricane Laura - just six weeks ago - left more than 30 people dead and was one of the biggest on record
