Call Congress for a Ceasefore in Gaza!

Calls to Congress for a Ceasefire in Israel and Gaza must continue!

On October 7, the brutal assault by Hamas resulted in 1,200 people killed in Israel and 240 people taken hostage. Since then numerous Israeli soldiers have been killed in the bombing campaign of Gaza. To date, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, an estimated 18,600 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since October 7, a large percentage of whom were children and women. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen, with increasingly scant access to food, water, safe shelter, and medical supplies, decimated hospitals, and widespread destruction of buildings and infrastructure. The ongoing bombings in Gaza are indiscriminate, and tragically three Israeli hostages were accidentally killed in Gaza last week by the Israeli Defense Force.

There is intense fear and grief for lost loved ones among both Israelis and Palestinians.
The killing and the violence must end! We need to continue making calls to Congress for a lasting ceasefire in Israel and Gaza and to urge our members of Congress to cosponsor H. Res. 786 “Calling for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Israel and occupied Palestine”  To date, only Rep. Watson Coleman in New Jersey has cosponsored. We also must urge our representative and both senators to oppose any legislation that provides military aid to Israel.
