South Carolina to Remove 1 Million Residents From Hurricane’s Path

“Evacuation Isn’t Voluntary”

Editor’s Comment: It is clear that every disaster big and small is, on top of the actual emergency at hand, an opportunity for big government to take more control. FEMA’s mega-role in hurricane and disaster relief means a big payday for the insurance companies and the contractors of choice in cases like Hurricane Sandy – which hit the heavily populated East Coast hard.
Now this southeasterly hurricane will be another opportunity to turn crisis into power. Whether intentional or not, the state South Carolina, as well as Florida, Georgia and North Carolina, are utilizing emergency powers and mandating an evacuation under strict government control. They are opening up the doors to FEMA camps to give relief to these evacuees, and it isn’t clear if things will run smoothly or not. What is clear is that cases of disaster where local residents form informal networks to give aid – as recently seen with the Cajun Navy after the Louisiana floods – have been interfered with by “higher authorities” despite the fact that the locals do a better job.
Is Mandatory Evacuation of One Million SC Residents for Hurricane Matthew Doubling as a Martial Law Drill?
by The Daily Sheeple
As Hurricane Matthew bears down on the East Coast, citizens in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas are getting prepared but some are being forced under armed guard to evacuate. Florida Gov. Rick Scott is warning it could be the biggest evacuation in Florida state history.
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley announced plans this morning to evacuate “designated zones” of what was at first reported as a quarter of a million people within 100 miles of the state’s coastline specifically to Greenville, South Carolina 200 miles inland. It has now been announced South Carolina will evacuate over 1 million people.
A fleet of 315 school buses from Greenville has been dispatched to retrieve people from Charleston and transport them back to Greenville. The evacuation isn’t voluntary, either.
According to Greenville Online:
The evacuations are not labeled mandatory or voluntary anymore, Haley said. “An evacuation is an evacuation.”
A concerned citizen sent The Daily Sheeple a message that evacuating to Greenville means they are evacuating a million people to a town specifically known to host one of the state’s few known FEMA camps:
“I was watching Governor Haley’s news conference this morning on evacuation procedures for Hurricane Matthew.  She personally stated her desire to evacuate every citizen within 100 miles of the coast, with the intent to move them to Greenville, SC.
As you may be aware, there is a known FEMA detention camp in Greenville.  Also, President Obama has set up a “constitution free” zone reaching 100 miles inland from all US coastlines.
I believe this to be a practice run for an eventual nation-wide declaration of martial law…”
Marshall
He is not alone in his concern.
A quick search reveals that multiple sites across the web list a youth detention camp near Greenville as a FEMA camp.
There are also theories regarding underground military infrastructure that was built to run through the Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina area, with Walmart set up as a staging area.
In order to further protect the homeland and ensure the safety of it’s citizens in case of nuclear, biological, or chemical attack, a joint venture of the NSA, DOD, MiB, DHS, CICs, DFCS, and BK has been created in order to create an expansive tunnel system throughout the south. These tunnels will also serve as conduits for national defense to rapidly move troops, supplies, and armor throughout the nation between strategic topographical locations. A map of the believed military and government installations affected and connected by this tunnel system: Paulding County, Georgia, is said to be the central location of the project. Yorkville, Georgia is to be a terminus of sorts for the hubs in:
Anniston, AL
Raleigh-Durham, NC
Greenville-Spartanburg, SC
Macon, GA
Lookout Mountain, TN
Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA
Wal-Mart’s involvement in the project has not yet been officially commented on, but it is generally perceived that Wal-Marts in these areas are staging areas for the tunnel project. It is to be noted that this project is under a great deal of scrutiny by those who live near the ongoing construction project. Analysts do not believe the project will be available for public use, and will not be publicly acknowledged (rumors of usage by NASA for it’s installation in Huntsville, AL have been found to be true).
This ties in with several other Walmarts around the country being suddenly shut down last year and all employees laid off with five hours notice for suspicious “plumbing repairs”.
As mentioned, we all know aa 100-mile Constitution-free zone has been designated around the entire border of the United States, which includes more than half of South Carolina and the entire state of Florida.
Hurricane Matthew isn’t a joke, but at 5 a.m. this morning, the projection shifted east, meaning the hurricane will likely still hit South Carolina but with less force than previously thought. It is being reported that it will hit as a category 2, possibly 3 at this time.
Gov. Haley, however, isn’t playing around, which is good or bad depending on how you look at it. Watch the press conference below.
The state of emergency was already declared and the National Guard was already been activated days in advance, and again, they have removed the words “voluntary” and “mandatory” from the equation all together. People aren’t being given a choice. They are being forced. Haley did not specifically discuss where all the Charleston residents bused into Greenville on 315 buses would be going once they got there.
The governor also discusses how police and national guard will be lining the highway to give an armed escort to evacuees, including 700 “traffic control points” set up and “comfort stations” where people can go to the bathroom or get water as they are evacuated… under armed guard.
“You’ll see lots of law enforcement officers as well as guards,” she warned South Carolina residents.

Sure sounds like martial law, doesn’t it?
Kind of interesting on the timing too, considering Russia is currently overtly holding a civil defense drill that involves 40 million of its residents… Makes you wonder if the government would even tell us of their concerns about potential war here in America, or if they would just use natural events like this to run a drill without causing a widespread panic. Likely we’d be kept in the dark on a “need-to-know” basis like we have been as citizens of this country ever since World War II.
Meanwhile grocery store shelves are being stripped of storable foods and water throughout the potential hurricane landfall areas, and home supply stores like Home Depot are running out of plywood, generators, and propane because people are not prepared.

Media Silent as Concealed Carrier Stops Mass Shooting in Progress at a South Carolina Nightclub

A remarkable incident is being largely ignored by corporate mainstream media – as it doesn’t fit their “guns are bad” narrative. A man with a concealed carry license stopped a mass shooting in progress outside a South Carolina nightclub in the early morning hours on Sunday after an assailant opened fire in a crowed of people, striking and injuring three people.
Jody Ray Thompson, 32, faces multiple attempted murder charges stemming from the incident, according to Spartanburg County deputies. None of the victims’ injuries were life-threatening, according to police.
“His rounds struck 3 victims, and almost struck a fourth victim, who in self-defense, pulled his own weapon and fired, striking Thompson in the leg,” Lt. Kevin Bobo said.
Police said that after getting into an altercation with another man, Thompson pulled out a firearm and began firing into a crowd of people that had gathered near the front of the club around 3:30 a.m., according to WISTV-10.
As Thompson was firing at the crowd of people, one of his would-be victims, with a concealed carry permit, was able to return fire, striking Thompson in the leg and ending the mass shooting in progress.
“Thompson was still on the scene when deputies arrived, but the initial scene was chaotic,” Lt. Bobo said. “It wasn’t until victims and witnesses were interviewed, and video from the scene was reviewed that Thompson was identified as the suspect.”
Police confirmed that the man who stopped the attack had a valid concealed weapons permit and won’t face any charges. Thompson faces four counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
The interesting thing about this incident is that it flies in the face of the narrative that people would be safer if we make it harder for individuals to gain access to, or legally carry, firearms.
There is a certain level of common sense regulation, such as not allowing violent felons or convicted terrorists to own guns. However, the push to make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to access or carry firearms actually works against public safety, as clearly illustrated in this case.
The current narrative on gun control is that “mass shootings,” defined by the FBI as three or more people shot in one incident, are at an epidemic level. This ostensible epidemic requires society to increase restrictions on gun ownership as a means of saving lives and lowering the U.S. homicide rate.
It’s important to keep in mind that mass shootings in public places should never be the main focus in the gun debate for gun control. The reality is that on average mass shootings account for much less than a single percent of the U.S. homicide rate.

Had this legal concealed carrier not been present when this gunman began opening fire, this incident would have likely had much more deadly consequences. The reality is that a legal concealed carrier at ground zero of an attack can stop the carnage sooner.
When good people carry firearms it saves lives, not that the media will tell you that.

From curfews to mandatory evacuations, police state in view during SC flood

By Brandon Turbeville | Activist Post
As the flood waters began to rise in South Carolina, so did the level of awareness that the vast majority of South Carolinians were wholly unprepared for such a disaster. But local governments have also proven themselves unprepared, poorly prioritized, and inept at dealing with the destruction left by a historic amount of rainfall over the Palmetto state.
As the flood crisis got under way, South Carolina saw its major cities inundated with so much water that city centers were unnavigable without a boat, coastal areas saw houses collapse, and both city and rural areas saw roads wash out completely.
With dams bursting and bridges washing away, local governments, citizens, and emergency management personnel clearly had their hands full. Most of them, to their credit, did their jobs well enough with the resources they had.
However, as has now become typical, local governments immediately began racing the flood waters to see which could become the greatest threat to the people of South Carolina.
While the waters were by far the greatest danger to the lives of South Carolinians, there was another threat looming over South Carolina that will have much more long-lasting effects than the flood. While water has no concern for citizens’ rights, it is unfortunate that neither do many local South Carolina governments who began imposing “curfews” and “mandatory evacuations” in the midst of the crisis.
To be clear, those who decided to joy ride in the midst of the flood were taking chances with their lives. Yet, local government imposition of curfews is a drastic response to the threat of individual citizens endangering themselves.
An individual has a right to travel, regardless of the weather or threat that is posed to their own lives by the act of traveling. Local governments in South Carolina, however, seem to think that the right to travel is subject to suspension when in conflict with the wishes of said government and emergency personnel.
The argument, of course, is that by traveling, the citizen is endangering the lives of emergency personnel if the citizen finds himself in a situation from which he needs to be rescued.
This argument eliminates both the right and the choice, as well as the possible necessity, of travel from the citizen, and is based squarely upon the idea that the convenience and responsibilities of emergency personnel outweigh the right of the citizen. They do not.
Emergency personnel are just what the name implies – emergency personnel. They are not designed to be fair weather friends but individuals who respond in an emergency situation. It is precisely in situations such as this that emergency personnel are needed the most and precisely when they earn their money.
Emergency personnel, in instances such as these, might very well be asked to risk their lives; but risking their lives is what emergency personnel are supposed to do in emergency situations, not launch a clampdown on rights to ensure their own safety.
“Curfews” are to be placed upon children by parents, not upon citizens by government.
To be fair, if there is a situation in which it has become so untenable to launch rescue missions that the lives of emergency personnel are at stake due to the poor choices of citizens who refuse to act in an appropriate manner during an emergency, the proper response would be one of education and warning, complete with a subsequent leaving of the citizen to the repercussions of his own choices.
Informing citizens that, as of a certain time, there will be no more rescues conducted in a certain area if the rescues are a result of travel, etc. is by no means the ideal but are an available option. The restriction of travel is not. Let the citizen live with his choices.
Likewise, such is the case regarding the many instances of “mandatory evacuations” implemented across the state of South Carolina during this recent crisis. While offers of assistance to evacuate and warnings that evacuation is necessary are most certainly appropriate, the force or “compulsion” to leave by authorities is not only wrong, it is unconstitutional. Yet this is exactly what has happened all across the state.
For instance, in Florence county, the Florence County Council met in an emergency session and voted to implement a resolution that allowed the Sheriff’s Department, Florence County Emergency Management personnel, and Florence administration to force individuals from their homes in a number of locations due to flood waters.
The resolution read,
Florence County Council directs that the Director of Emergency Management, the Florence County Administration and Sheriff of Florence County are authorized to implement the directives of this Proclamation and enforce the State of Emergency procedures; and
The authorized individuals are directed and given the authority to compel evacuation of all of part of the population from any stricken or threatened area in Florence County, if such action is deemed necessary for the preservation of life
Further, to authorize the Director of Emergency Management, the Florence County Administrator and Sheriff of Florence County to impose a curfew from 7 p.m. until sunrise for non-emergency activities should they deem necessary, until the Proclamation is rescinded.
A reasonable response would have been to declare an evacuation effort – anyone who wants to leave should be able, anyone who wants to stay, can stay, but the rescue party will not be back for those who choose to stay behind. Anything further than that is a violation of constitutional rights.
It is worth noting that, while the Florence County Council can meet in secret in an emergency session to restrict the rights (the most basic right to be secure in your home) of the people of Florence county, the Florence County Council was wholly incapable of meeting ahead of time, when all South Carolinians were aware of the impending danger, to assure the cleaning of storm drainers and roadside gutters, a project that was largely untouched and undoubtedly contributed to the massive amounts of water standing in Florence.

Perhaps next time Florence faces an impending disaster, the county council will be so kind as to engage in rational preparation as opposed to the evisceration of rights.
While this writer does not want to exaggerate the levels to which the police state was implemented in the state of South Carolina or the extent of the damage caused by the floods (nowhere near Katrina and New Orleans on either account) we cannot simply ignore “small” violations of rights where they exist, even in an emergency situation. The growing power of the police state under the guise of “emergency management” is in clear view. Citizens may try rationalize the violation of rights under arguments of expediency, emergency measures, or simply Stockholm Syndrome but rights are still being violated nonetheless.
If rights are not protected, even in the event of an emergency, they will eventually be violated in peace time. Indeed, if we allow rights to be violated under the guise of an emergency, we will soon find ourselves living under a perpetual crisis.
