JD Vance threatens Russia with sanctions, possible military action if Putin doesn’t agree to end Ukraine war

stating that the United States is prepared to implement additional sanctions and consider military action if President Vladimir Putin does not engage in good-faith negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
Vance emphasized that all options are on the table, including the deployment of U.S. troops to Ukraine, highlighting the U.S.’s readiness to use both economic and military leverage against Russia.
This position marks a notable shift from previous U.S. statements. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had earlier suggested that the U.S. would not commit military forces to Ukraine, advocating for a more cautious approach.
In contrast, Vance’s remarks underscore a more assertive stance, indicating that the U.S. is willing to escalate its involvement if Russia fails to negotiate sincerely.
